In Vertical Purrsuit, you play as a determined ASCII cat leaping endlessly upward across shifting bookshelves. Dodge dastardly bugs, collect fish to increase your score, and get high on catnip to launch yourself into rapid, uncontrollable bursts of speed.

Every run is a test of reflexes and focus as the climb becomes faster and more unpredictable the higher you go. One wrong move, and it’s back to the bottom.

With its minimalist ASCII visuals and surreal, psychedelic audio, Vertical Purrsuit delivers a chaotic and memorable twist on the classic endless climber formula.

Built using Dragonfly, a custom text-based game engine developed by the team. Dragonfly is designed to teach and demonstrate game engine architecture, guiding developers through building a full-featured 2D engine from scratch.
